Say goodbye to 3024

On Tuesday Tom called and said that he had an offer on the house, so Wednesday my trusty helpers and I went for a drive to do a few last minute things. Here are the beauties and the results of their efforts.

It's sad and exciting to see this house get sold. Many good memories were had there, and some sorrow too. We only hope the next inhabitants will fill it as fully as our family did.

The benefits of dog sitting...

This is the incredible view from the neighbors house. We never would have seen it without getting to dog sit this week!

We're home!

What a great trip! We ended our trip with 10 hours of driving today. How great it is to have three drivers!

We had a little scare when these appeared in our rear view mirror...but it turned out that we just had a tail light out.

We still got in a little hike at Harrison lake state park in Ohio.

And a little napping as well...

We are home safe and happy and grateful for all who cared for us and Benjamin...we love you all!

The road home continued...

Last night we set up our puny tent in a beautiful campground surrounded by more sophisticated campers. Becky and I endured a rainy night (we only got a little wet) while Kristin slept in the van!

In the morning we drove from our spot in Connecticut to Massachusetts where we climbed Mount Greylock (the highest point in Mass) via the Appalachian trail!

Then on to Bennington Vermont and its moose collection for some touristing.

An afternoon of driving brought us to Niagara Falls! Amazing!

Wednesday and the road trip continued...

I used today to relive the days I lived in Pennsylvania. I took Becky and Kristin to my old home in Mt Pocono and visited one of my favorite haunts, Callie's Candies, where we stocked up and watched Mr Callie demonstrate his trade and gave us tips on life.

Then on to Bushkill falls, where we manipulated the trail head a bit and enjoyed some great scenery.

The Becky took over and guided us to another cool falls in Connecticut where the girls (but not me) illegally climbed on the rocks.

We then had a bit of car trouble and got incredibly fortunate to find a kind mechanic who fixed us up while we ate dinner at another great restaurant! Off to the campground for a rainy sleep...

The start of the road trip home

Today was Kristin's day to choose the sights and roads of the day. She took us through Delaware and New Jersey and we were treated to the following...

A beautiful Delaware beach

A crab feast at Lazy Susan's

An incredible ferry ride to New Jersey

A New Jersey lighthouse at sunset

The Atlantic beach in all its wild beauty...

Tuesday continued...

K joined us all in the afternoon and treated us to a great patio dinner and a ghost tour!

I think this picture has ghosts in it!

This house was the home of a native american boy ghost...

Tuesday in Virginia

Tuesday morning I woke up and decided to take a quick bike ride into town. The historic trail beckoned, so I followed...2 hours later I dragged myself back to Debbie's. It seems there is no easy way off the trail once your are on it! I saw some cool stuff though...see below...

Williamsburg and More...

We cannot get enough of the beach!

Soooo many jellyfish!

Williamsburg other stuff

Here are some images of the day...

Williamsburg Governor's palace

This building was home to the English rule of Virginia and then the Colonial Governor's. Lots of history...
