Reindeer season?

On our way to dinner tonight we saw this wonderful sight.

Think it's a herd of reindeer fattening up for their upcoming work?

A most thoughtful gift...

Last year Frank and I interviewed people to serve as Ben's case manager.  This position is designed to help families like us manage all of the services and agencies that are involved with the care and help for kids like Ben.  After the interviews we both agreed on Katie.  She seemed to genuinely care for Ben and was committed to advocating for his care.

What we didn't know was that she would love him so well.

This year, as Ben has begun to ride the bus more often, it has become apparent that he needs some sort of coat that could cover him in his wheelchair while he comes and goes to the MARC center.  I was give some resources to review in finding Ben this kind of coat, but the average cost for such an item was 300.00.    While I was struggling to find another option, Katie took matters into her own hands.  She mentioned our problem to her mother, who promptly knitted this wonderful gift for Ben!

We are so grateful for the loving care we receive through Katie, and now through her family, for our dear little boy!

Sign update

Just by chance I was talking to one of y co-workers and found out that she is a neighbor to the now infamous sign creator.  She told me that this family is angry because the farmer across the street put up a storage silo that locks their view of the pond across the road.

I put it out of my mind until I drove by again the other day and saw this....

The saga continues....

Merry Christmas! (second try)

We are foregoing a paper card this year and sharing our Christmas wishes electronically.

We plan to do the same each year and use the money we save to support a charity. (click here to read more about our choice this year)

We hope you know how grateful we are for all of you!

The tree!

Frank, Ben and I spent a quiet night at home last night decorating the tree and savoring memories of the many ornaments that have been given to us through the years by friends and family.  Thanks to all of you for contributing to our tree and to our lives!
