Road trip to see Debbie!!

So we are off again...after a mere 36 hours at home we are on the road again...this time to see Debbie in Virginia!

Here are my traveling partners for this trip...

We got a bit of a late start on Tuesday as we had to wait for Kristin to finish working, but then we traveled until 2am. After a few false attempts at a hotel, (ask us sometime about the hotel host who popped out of the van), and an emergency pit stop on the park grass, we slept for a few hours before continuing on.

Once we get going on our way to see Debbie, not much can stop us, but this tourist opportunity was one of the few...

On the National Historic register of places, this place was great! Caves, spelunking, great rocks, and dinosaurs!

25th anniversary...day four

We milked every last drop of fun out of our trip with a wonderful walk around Fort Lauderdale on Sunday morning. Then a quick swim in the ocean, and back home.

Big "Thank yous" to Kristin, Wendy and Erin for running our house and caring for Ben!

25th anniversary...day three

Saturday was our fishing day! We met Bob the fishing guide at the marina early in the morning and he took us out to the flats to seek out the elusive bone fish. The views were incredible! Even though these fish are very easily spooked, Frank hooked into one only to have his line snap!

After checking out of Cheeca (very reluctantly) we drove up to Fort Lauderdale to another great beachside resort.

Frank took us to a unique local cabana for dinner where we watched the boats come in for dinner.

Here's a shot of me with my little boat...

25th anniversary...day two!

On Friday, we walked around the charming island of Islmorada, stopped back at the resort for a swim, and then headed out down to Key West.

On the way we found a terrific little beach to play at...

and stopped for lunch at a cute little spot...

We enjoyed the beautiful drive to Key West and then HAD to get a sweet at this little bakery...

try out the musical instruments...

touch the southernmost spot in the US...

explore the Hemingway house...

seek out Nancy's secret garden...

and do a little shopping before returning ( a little tired out...) to Cheeca!

25 Years (and one day...)

Frank and I celebrated 25 years together with a trip to the Keys last week, and it was terrific! On Thursday we flew out to Fort Lauderdale and drove down to an incredible resort on Islmorada, (about a third of the way down the keys).

On the way down we stopped to eat at the Fish House, where Frank graciously agreed to hold up the billboard for a while...

It was a very unique place with incredible food!

I also met a wonderful new friend...he is the BEST listener!

Then on the Cheeca Resort in Islmorada...just amazing!

Here's the view of the Atlantic from Cheeca's tiki hut

It was a wonderful first day...

Grandma's new patio

Frank volunteered to have a "man" day with Ben today, so Kristin, Libby and I took a day trip to see my Mom in Sheboygan. We had lots of fun on the beach, eating way too much and admiring Mom's new patio...so cool!

Tired them out...
