Samantha!

We are getting to meet Samantha this weekend and we love her!  She flew up Friday and she and Tae are staying with us through the weekend.

So far she has endured the Farmer's market,

cheese shopping

and berry picking.

She is a great sport and a wonderful person and we are glad to welcome her into the family!

Dinner and a tour

Jane and Mike took us to one of Mike's favorite restaurants tonight,

and since we were near the campus, they took us down to the union terrace for Babcock hall ice cream.

Since they both went to school here and have lived in the area, they took us to see many of the sites that have been a part of their lives...it was a wonderful night!

Summertime Fun!

We had a full day today!

Becky and I started out the day with a hike through lost canyon...

Then Frank treated Kristin and I to star treatment at a Mallard's game!  (And they won!)

We are home!

After two days of mostly driving we are back...and at least one person is happy to see us!

Travel day

After our beach excursion this morning we spent most of the day on the road.  We explored a few back roads in Pennsylvania on the way through so that we could see some of the famous Amish country, and then Kristin brought us well into Ohio for the night.  Home tomorrow!

Delaware bay

We woke up early this morning so that we could investigate the nearby beach n Delaware bay.  It was filled with shells, birds, and horseshoe crabs.  We found out later that this area and this time of year is the most important breeding season for the crabs.  We are glad about that because we saved a few dozen of those that had become stranded on the beach!

Up the coast we go

Well, we finally had to let Debbie get back to work, so we reluctantly left Yorktown this morning. 

We wound our way up the east coast of Virginia, through Maryland and Delaware where we stopped at a beautiful beach.

Then we hopped on the ferry which took us over to New Jersey...

where we had a delicious dinner...

found a charming bed and breakfast...

took a stormy beach walk....

and finished the day with ice cream!

Late night swim

We ended our wonderful day yesterday with a cool swim at Debbie's pool...ahhhh...

We had a great day today...blueberry picking, lunch, shopping and the beach!
