Test your out-of-the-box thinking

Kristin and I always enjoy figuring out the designer license plates that are frequently seen in our area.  This is one of our favorites...can you figure it out?  Scroll down the see the answer...

Rosie retreat!

Rosie and I have been friends for years and have always talked about going on spiritual retreats, so last week we did it!  I flew out, Rosie drove down and we met at her cabin in Logan Canyon, Utah.

I got to see Brad and Becca and Andrew for a day before they went off on their own little vacation to southern Utah.

It was an unbelievable trip, with tons of fun activities, lots of study and talk, and even a scientific study that compared the quality of local ice cream!

Rosie is a remarkable person who is an important part of my life and I am so lucky to call her my friend!

Playing with the new toy...

Frank and I took the boat out for a trial run on lake Mendota today...what a blast!  We toured around the whole shoreline...the views are wonderful!  I think we are going to have lots of fun with this...come on over and take a ride with us!

New toy!

Besides the excitement of registering Kristin at school, Frank negotiated a new toy for us!

Since he and I went to Florida last year, we have talked about getting a boat to help us enjoy all of the wonderful water that surrounds us.  So on his way home from Laona last weekend, he found the "dream boat!"

Here it is modeled by our other dream boat!

A new freshman at River Falls

Today, Frank and I accompanied Kristin to her registration at River Falls.  She spent all day and came away with a good understanding of the campus and it's resources as well as her fall schedule of courses.

While Kristin worked, we played...

And while all of that was happening, Becky was at home, battling (in her own courageous manner) the varmints of Timber lane!

Happy ending!

Just a note to say thanks for your prayers.  Our little raccoon is happy, healthy and safe at the local wildlife refuge!

So cute...

Kristin and I have been seeing a set of baby raccoons on our road for the past few days, and their number has decreased each day.  We thought at first that the mother was there, but it has become obvious that they are on their own.  Today we found the last one stumbling in the middle of the road, so we brought it home in the hopes that it will make it through the night so we can get it to the wildlife rescue tomorrow...pray for the little guy...

On Kristin's first official day of summer she and Becky found something really fun (and cool... temperature and hip) to do...Cave of the Mounds!

Ben's first day

After a comprehensive selection process, tons of paperwork and all the practice trips, Ben had his first day at the MARC center.  He was happy, but tired, and I am the same!  Thanks to all who made the transition possible!

It's official!

Celebrating graduation at church

The wonderful women at church made blankets to give to the graduates today.  They are to serve as a reminder of God's loving comfort, and the love and care of her family and friends in Christ.

A great party!

We feel so fortunate to have had perfect weather and wonderful people to celebrate Kristin's graduation!

This cow should have been seen and not herd (ed)

Debbie came to town today, and within an hour of being here she was forced to experience a typical Wisconsin activity.  Well, maybe not that typical.  We were coming home from an errand when we saw a cow running loose in a field near the highway.  So, we chased it back toward the farm, called the owner and waited until he came back to retrieve his wayward animal.

What a fun start to the weekend!  It makes me wonder what the rest of it will be like!
